For years I have loved the Mother’s Day sack card from Simpy Kierste (one of my favorite blogs), but I thought if would be fun to have a combination of card, coloring page, and gift. I want to keep the kiddos busy and coloring pages are perfect for that. Plus, chocolate seems like a necessity on Mother’s Day. So I decided to try my hand at creating an all-in-one gift idea and I love the result!
There are two options of cards that you can choose from. One is specifically for mothers, but the other is a general card perfect for grandmas, aunts, stepmoms, foster moms…you get the idea. Not all kids live with their biological moms, and I wanted to make sure that there was something for everyone.
It’s also easy to turn this into a family night activity. You could make a card for Grandma, a special neighbor, a favorite auntie…anyone!
One of the best things about paper bag cards is that you can fill them up! I think every mom deserves some chocolate on Mother’s Day, and you can easily put some chocolate in these cards, tie them up, and wa-la! Just like that you have the perfect gift!
But of course it doesn’t have to be chocolate. It could be a necklace, picture, coloring page, chapstick…anything. But at this moment, I can’t fathom anything better than chocolate. Just sayin.
These are so easy to make.
Just download, print, and cut out the printables. Fold a paper bag and glue the printables in whatever order you want. Then punch a hole on the end that are not folded. That’s it.
After the kids have colored the card, just stick a treat in and tie it up with ribbon, twine, or string. That’s it. Easy peazy lemon squeezy.
I hope you can use these Mother’s Day cards at church, school, or home. I hope they help make your Mother’s Day a little bit easier and more fun.
If you like this idea, I would be honored if you shared it on any of your social media hangouts. ♥
